This
carpet from inner Mongolia features a field of the flower
lattice brocade pattern. The flowers in the field are peonies
with stars. The border is a series of intertwined lotus flowers
and leaves woven in a style to appear as stylized incense
smoke. There is a final outer border of solid dark blue. Cotton
warp and weft, asymmetrical woolen knots in a good condition.
All vegetable dyed.
