The lion which is mythological animal has been called fo-dog
or Buddha's dog. With its terrifying head and broad mane and
tail the lion was usually the special guardian of temples.
Often depicted with a ball, symbolizing the holy jewel, the
lion always gives an impression of happiness when appearing
