This
elegant small carpet has a peony medallion in the middle surrounded
by mirror image living citrons (Buddha¡¯s hand or finger lemon
-¡°fo shou¡± in Mandarin Chinese). It is considered a symbol
of happiness as it resembles the classic posture of Buddha¡¯s
hand with the index and little finger pointed upwards. Four
small pomegranates, a symbol of many male offspring, surround
the citrons. The inner border is pearl design. The outer border
with flowers, Buddhist and Daoist symbols. All vegetable dyed.
