This
sleeping carpet has a single central medallion in a stylized
geometric pattern. The carpet is covered with wonderful happy
wheels, both in the center field and in the outer border in
mirror images. The design elements of the happy wheels include
the endless knot, the conch, the wheel, the bat, the shou,
the peony, the lotus, gold coins, flyfots, and pearls. The
inner corner designs are highly geometric in nature and are
taken from motifs used in ancient Chinese bronze wine vessel.
The inner border is a garland of shells and a thunder meander.
Cotton warp and weft, asymmetrical woolen knots. There are
two smalll skillfull repairs on it. All vegetable dyed.
